Console Connect expands in Thailand enabling 13 new data centre locations
By Lily Bennett|27 August, 2025

Thailand is emerging as one of Asia’s most important digital hubs. Fuelled by large-scale investments in data centres, cloud regions, and network infrastructure, the country is becoming a central link between Southeast Asia and global markets.
Recognising this, Console Connect, PCCW Global’s Network-as-a-Service platform, has expanded its footprint by enabling 13 new data centre locations across Thailand, bringing the total to 16 nationwide. This expansion strengthens our ability to deliver secure, high-performance connectivity across Thailand’s rapidly growing digital ecosystem.
New enabled data centre locations in Thailand:
- True IDC - East Bangna, Samut Prakan
- True IDC - North Muangthong, Nonthaburi
- THE CLOUD (RATCHADA-RAM), Bangkok
- Telehouse Bangkok, Bangkok
- AIS DATA CENTER TELLUS, Pathum Thani
- Datazone, Chonburi
- STT Bangkok3, Bangkok
- STT Bangkok1, Bangkok
- One As1a, Pathum Thani
- NTT Amata, Chonburi
- ETIX Bangkok, Samut Prakan
- AIS DATA CENTER CW TOWER (RATCHADA), Bangkok
- NT Data Center Bangrak, Bangkok
Thailand’s strategic position as a connectivity hub
Sitting at the centre of Southeast Asia, Thailand links high-growth Indochina markets such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam with global networks. This role is reinforced by Thailand being a landing point for multiple submarine cables that provide international connectivity across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
PCCW Global's high-performance global network is underpinned by subsea cable infrastructure that runs through Thailand, including the Asia Direct Cable (ADC) and Southeast Asia–Japan Cable 2 (SJC2). Looking ahead, the upcoming Asia-Africa-Europe-2 (AAE-2) will further strengthen Thailand’s position as a hub, creating a secure, high-capacity terrestrial corridor across the country and delivering diverse, resilient, and high-performance routes for international traffic.
For enterprises, this means Thailand is no longer just a local market. It is becoming a central hub for regional data flows, cloud access, and interconnection. Console Connect’s expanded presence ensures businesses can fully leverage this strategic geography with direct, private access across our global backbone.
Data centre, cloud and interconnection growth
Expanding on the country’s strategic position, Thailand’s digital infrastructure market is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by major investments in data centres, cloud regions, and interconnection. Earlier this year, the government approved USD 2.7 billion in projects, including new hyperscale and enterprise-grade facilities. Leading cloud providers are also scaling up:
- Google is investing USD 1 billion to build new data centres and a cloud region in Bangkok and Chonburi.
- Microsoft is launching its first Thai data centre region, supporting the growth of AI and cloud services locally.
- AWS has committed USD 5 billion over 15 years to expand infrastructure in Thailand.
These projects bring hyperscale services closer to enterprises, improving performance while ensuring workloads remain compliant with data residency requirements.
Alongside cloud expansion, Thailand’s interconnection market, valued at USD 1.56 billion in 2024, is projected to double by 2030. This growth is being fuelled by a wave of new data centre investments primarily in Bangkok and Chonburi (which sits on the Eastern Economic Corridor), where operators are building high-capacity, AI-ready facilities with sustainable infrastructure. Key developments include:
- True IDC has committed to spend over 10 billion baht from 2024–2027 to expand East Bangna and North Muangthong campuses with 41 MW of new capacity, liquid cooling, and LEED-aligned sustainability features.
- NTT Data is investing USD 90 million to build Bangkok 3 Data Centre (BKK3) in Chonburi. There will be a focus on green innovation and the data centre will provide a maximum IT capacity of 12MW across approximately 4,000 m² of IT space.
- STT GDC is building its third facility in Bangkok, STT Bangkok 2, which will deliver up to 24MW of IT capacity with a hybrid cooling environment designed to support high-density and AI workloads through both air and liquid cooling.
